The vineyard is located in the Sebes-Apold area of vineyards, within the wine-growing center, and the DOC (Denomination of Controlled Origin) winemaking area is Sebeş-Apold.
In this area, winegrowing is traditional, and there is historical evidence that prove that inhabitants of these lands are passionate winegrowers.
The Landlers, the German population deported in 1734 under the reign of Carol VI, soon became aware of the importance of the local climate and the famous terraced soils, maintaining the tradition of the vineyards in the area.
In the last decades the varieties of grapes that grows in this area have been used especially for sparkling wines.
În 2007 we started the land development and reorganization project and planted new vines at the Apoldu de Sus on the hills “Trupul Fata Mare” and “ Trupul Gorgan” everything becomes functional in 2010.
The grape cuttings necessary for the establishment of the new plantations were provided by the prestigious Agricultural Cooperative „Vitis Rauscedo” Italy.
The representatives of the cooperative also ensured the planting of the vine cuttings for the varieties: Italian Riesling, Traminer Aromatico, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat Ottonel.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][trx_line align=”center” sep=”yes” top=”80″ bottom=”80″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row gap=”30″ equal_height=”yes”][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1503306704291{background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_custom_heading text=”LOCALIZATION” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]The vineyard is located on the European Road 68, which connects Sibiu and Sebeş, 28 kilometers from Sibiu, on the right side of the road, in the direction of Sebeş.
The land on which the vine is grown is at an altitude of 446-485 meters above sea level, with southern orientation, and the soil on which the vine is grown is a forest red-brown, ideal for this type of plants.
The climate of the area is typically continental, with an average annual temperature of 8.6 ° C, the average daily temperature is 10 ° C and is recorded in the second half of April and ends in the third decade of October, which corresponds with the growing period of the vine.
The number of vegetation days ranges from 172 to 180 days, and the sum of hours of sunlight in the growing season oscillates between 1,200 and 1,800.
The total area of the vine plantation is 62.06 ha. The vine is cultivated on the plateau at the top of the slope on an area of 31 ha and the rest of 31.06 ha on large terraces that descend from the top of the slope to the base.
Areas and varieties planted are as follows:
- 21,06 ha – Sauvignon Blanc
- 15,60 ha – Traminer Aromatico
- 8,80 ha – Pinot Grigio
- 9,00 ha – Riesling Italian
